Jamborees set to begin

After three weeks of official practice, local football teams will have a chance to move beyond the drills today and tomorrow as they take the field for fall jamborees.
Tonight, Collinsville will play host to a six-team jamboree. The event will begin at 5 p.m. at Cagle Civitan Stadium with a match-up between North Sand Mountain and Hanceville. Skyline and the Alabama School for the Deaf will square off at 6:30 p.m. followed by Collinsville versus Woodville as the nightcap beginning at 8 p.m.
Crossville will also hold their jamboree tonight. The Lions will host Westminster Christian with the kick-off slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Plainview will also take to the field tonight for a preseason match-up against Boaz. The jamboree, which will be hosted by the Pirates, will begin at 7 p.m. The event will be broken into a half for the B-teams and a separate half for the varsity squads.
Ider will also host a jamboree featuring six local teams starting tomorrow. Valley Head will take on Fyffe during the opening half at 6 p.m. Pisgah and Geraldine will follow for the night's second match-up. Ider will play Sylvania during the final half to close out the jamboree.
Section hosts DAR tomorrow night for their preseason match-up. The jamboree is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
