Plainview girls defeat North Jackson

Class 4A, No.5-ranked Plainview led North Jackson (2-4, 0-1) by 10 at the end of the first period and the Lady Chiefs never recovered in the 4A, Area 14 matchup as the Lady Bears defeated North Jackson 62-40.
Plainview (9-3, 2-1) moved up two notches in the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s rankings this past week and seems to be hitting on all cylinders.
Alex Poole finished with 14 points and eight steals to lead Plainview.
North Jackson committed 35 turnovers, many forced by the Lady Bears swarming and pressuring defense.
Plainview cruised out to a 40-21 lead by the half and led by 27 points at the end of the third quarter.
Anna Busby closed with 12 points for Plainview and Anna Graham chipped in another 10 points, five rebounds and blocked one shot. Graham was also 6-for-8 from the charity strip. Sarah Robertson led the Lady Bears in rebounds with six.
Plainview out-rebounded North Jackson 34-27.
