Plainview gets big Area 14 win

Plainview improved to 2-5 in regular season play and 1-1 in area competition after holding off the North Jackson Chiefs in Class 4A, Area 14 play.
Taylor Horton led the Bears with 24 points and nine rebounds. Horton also knocked down 9-of-11 free throws.
Plainview led 12-10 after the first quarter and 34-30 at the halfway point. The Bears increased their lead by eight points to 59-51 at the end of three quarters of play.
Bryar Buchanan followed Horton with 22 points. Buchanan also pulled down 11 boards. Trey Gibson had nine points and four steals. Russ McFall handed out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds. Jacob Crowell claimed 10 rebounds for the Bears.
Jovani Taylor led the Chiefs with 19 points.
